Shanah Tovah, Sci-Tech Alumni! We hope you have a meaningful Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur as we enter the High Holiday season. This edition of our Sci-Tech Alumni Newsletter, which comes out approximately once every quarter, follows a busy summer at Sci-Tech. This summer we gathered together for another wonderful Alumni Weekend! We had so much fun revisiting the activities, people and places that we love about Sci-Tech!
The Alumni Committee is gearing up for a busy year of planning. Be on the look out for local in-person events as well as online events and activities to help alumni stay connected to our Sci-Tech community.
And, as always, keep in mind that our newsletter is Alumni Powered. Did you recently start a new job? Maybe you moved to a new location or some other big life change? Whatever it may be, you can always submit your news, camp photos, or Alum of the Month nominations here, and we’ll feature them in our next issue.

Alumni Spotlight: Jesse Hernson

The Alumni Committee is very excited to introduce you all to our new co-chair, Jesse Herrnson! Jesse was a pioneer camper and attended camp from 2014 to 2016, and went on to play roles as a Machon, a counselor, a songleader, program director, and a superhero. His favorite part of camp are services in general, but specifically the 10th summer celebration Shabbat where we got to see all the old photos from camp history. With our pioneer campers now all grown up, we’re “at the point where the people who grew up with camp can finally start to give back. It’s a really important step in our journey, and begins the cycle of l’dor va’dor.” If you hear Jesse talk, it’s clear how much he cares about Sci-Tech: “I really like the mission of camp, specifically what it provides to everyone who goes, and I didn’t want to give it up. The alumni committee is a great way to continue to contribute even after getting a year-round job,” Jesse says. The alum committee couldn’t be luckier to have him as our new leader.
