What an incredible summer! With over 360 campers spending 2, 4, or 6 weeks with us in Byfield, we experimented, we made connections, and we had a blast! Take a look at some of these great examples of what we’ve done and the fun we’ve had.

Videos: Session Recaps

Each session, our amazing Comms Teams creates a session recap video that we share with the community during Havdalah. Check out these videos to see all of the great activities and fun times we had this summer. You can also see the full collection of 2025 Videos on Vimeo.

Blog Highlights:

For a deeper look into the Sci-Tech community, or to explore particularly fascinating topics, check out some of these highlighted posts. You can also read through all of our Sci-Tech blog posts.

Let’s Talk Torah
Each Shabbat an amazing group of Sci-Tech counselors, lead by Jared Lappin, creates a video to teach about that week’s Torah portion, including interviewing campers about their thoughts on that parsha.

Sci-Tech and Social Justice
Incredible opportunities for members of the Sci-Tech community to engage in the work of “Tikkun Olam” (repairing the world).

What Do a Snail, the Golem, and Animatronics Have in Common?
Believe it or not, two of the three were the focus of hands-on exploration this summer—in two very different workshops—at URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy.

Havdalah Speeches:

At the end of each session, we gather as a whole community and reflect on the past session. Camper representatives are asked to share their thoughts on their Sci-Tech experience. See a few highlights below.

Session 1 – Ellion Dorm

“What makes Sci-Tech so special is the people here… Sci-Tech excludes nobody and lets everyone be their real selves and explore their real interests.”

Session 2 – Franklin Dorm

“There’s no place quite like this one. There’s no place where one can make so many friends in two weeks in such an incredible community. And I’m so grateful that I’m part of this.”

Session 3 – Ramon Dorm

“At my old camp, I was bullied and felt like I didn’t belong… But when I met my bunk [hall at Sci-Tech], I was welcomed with open arms. I finally felt like I belonged.”

Thank you to everyone in our amazing and extended community! Your support makes this incredible work possible. It allows us to continue creating a summer home for Jewish scientists, engineers, and digital creators to use their sakranut (curiosity) to explore, to experiment and make tagliot (discoveries), and to build keshsrim (connections) with their Jewish identities and each other.
