Support Girls in STEM
The URJ is an inclusive organization, and “girls” includes cis-gender, trans, genderqueer, and non-binary campers living on girls’ halls.
There is currently a major gender gap in STEM professions, and our desire is to close that gap and change the landscape of women in STEM. Currently, only 26% of the STEM workforce is female and although women comprise more than 20% of engineering graduates, only 11% of practicing engineers are women. While the percentage of girls in our program is higher than the national average, we want to set an even higher bar for ourselves and our community!
Increased scholarship funds from WRJ
- Additionally, first-time family vouchers of $295 are given to all first-time families!
- Families should also look to One Happy Camper for additional scholarship funds, if this is their first summer at an overnight Jewish camp.

Thanks to a generous gift from Blair and Dr. Joseph Marks, Sci-Tech has several exciting announcements and opportunities for our returning camp families:
$500 for Returning Girls and Non-Binary Campers
We are thrilled to be able to offer up to $500 per family for returning girls* and non-binary campers. These funds are available to families who need a little extra support, without needing to complete the full financial aid application. Upon completion of your registration for camp, you will be sent a link to apply for the funding. We encourage you to register soon as these funds are limited!
- If you have already enrolled, and are interested in these funds, please reach out.
- If your family requires support totaling more than $500, we recommend applying through the full financial aid process. With the help of the Lasdon Family Foundation Scholarship Fund and the WRJ, Sci-Tech remains committed to bringing all curious campers to experience the magic of camp!
Refer-a-friend gifts!
Refer a new girl/non-binary camper to Sci-Tech and, after they enroll, you will receive a $50 gift card to our camp store AND a special gift!
