| Olivia Lappin – Unit Head She/Her/Hers Hello, my name is Olivia and I am the Lower Camp Unit Head at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 10th (3rd on Staff) year at camp. I am from Wayland, Massachusetts. When I am not at camp, I I live in Washington DC majoring in Political Science and Film (with a minor in Special Education) at American University. I also work at a religious school and a middle school. I love learning and discovering more about Media! I am excited to be at camp because This place is my home and I can’t wait to be with this community again.

| Joslyn Amann She/Her/Hers Hello, my name is Joslyn and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 2nd year at camp. I am from Northbrook, Illinois. When I am not at camp, I will be going to UIUC in the fall. I love learning and discovering more about Science, especially biology, botany, and chemistry. I am excited to be at camp because I will be a full-time counselor for the first time and I am excited for the experience!

| Gal Cohen Hello, my name is Gal and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 1st year at camp. I am from Mevasseret Zion, Israel. When I am not at camp, I work as a server. I love learning and discovering more about computer science, video editing, and investing. I am excited to be at camp because It is such a unique opportunity to connect with people around the world, share my knowledge, and keep learning and having fun through science and technology!

When I am not at camp, I will be going on a gap year, likely to Israel. I love learning and discovering more about game design, esoteric physics, and history. I am excited to be at camp because I love being at camp, and I’m excited to work with all the wonderful people here.

When I am not at camp, I go to University for Film and Television studies. I love learning and discovering more about Films, Card games, and odd facts about particular activities. I am excited to be at camp to support any potential passions that the kids have, to make some new friends, and experience new ideas and culture.

When I am not at camp, I go to work, study for uni and hangout with friends I love learning and discovering more about Chemistry, Biology, and Medicine. I am excited to be at camp because it’s a one-in-a-lifetime experience to meet new people and friends, teach and bring my love to science.

| Max Rosenwasser He/Him/His Hello, my name is Max and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 7th year at camp. I am from Washington, DC. When I am not at camp, I lead Student Government, teach skills in my Boy Scout troop, play Tennis, and listen to DC Fire and EMS radio communications. I love learning and discovering more about how systems work, particularly transportation and emergency response systems. I am excited to be at camp because I had so much fun being a Machon last year and a camper for many years before, and I want to provide the same fun experiences to those younger than me.

When I am not at camp, I go to Georgia Tech for Aerospace Engineering. I love learning and discovering more about physics, D&D, Judaism, and creative writing. When I am not at camp, I am going to school for mechanical engineering. | Amit Winkler Hello, my name is Amit and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 1st year at camp. I am from Kiryat Ono, Israel. When I am not at camp, I am during my first year of a Biotechnology degree, and working as a Operations Coordinator at ‘Nayax’ company. I love learning and discovering more about Biotechnology, Biology, Genetic Engineering, The Human Body, Microbiology, Microorganisms, and Bioinformatics. I am excited to be at camp because I see this camp as the perfect combination of my passion for science and my love for working with people. I would love to meet and connect with Jewish people from around the world through learning and meaningful shared experiences.

I am from Worcester, MA. When I am not at camp, I run various table-top games (mostly D&D) for others. I am starting college later this year. I love learning and discovering more about D&D, TTRPGs; Japanese history, mythology, and warfare; guitar, mixed media art, and worldbuilding. I am excited to be at camp because It will be my 1st year working.

When I am not at camp, I go to college for Systems Engineering. I love learning and discovering more about math and music. I am excited to be at camp because I want to meet new people and give kids a great summer.

When I am not at camp, I go to school for arts and film as well as I’m a member of our school choir Adagio. I love learning and discovering more about music, movies, chess, and history. I am excited to be at camp because I’m excited to learn new cultures and traditions. Learning new things and meeting new people, as well as teaching others what I already know, seems like a great way to spend the summer.

I love learning and discovering more about robotics, tech, drones, music, science & much more! 🙂 I’m excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I have always loved science and computers since I was a little kid. It excites me and I am more than excited to pass on what I know to the campers and tell my story along with Judaism.

I am excited to be at camp because I get to be staff. I have been a camper for 5 years, and a machon last year. I can’t wait to continue my time at Sci-Tech.

When I am not at camp, I am an animal science student at the University of Vermont. I love learning and discovering more about Random Jewish Facts. I am excited to be at camp because I love Sci-Tech and talking about the intersection of scientific fact and weird Jewish ideas. I love to keep coming back to this space year after year.

When I am not at camp, I go to University where I study management and law, I also play rugby and work in small store near my Univeristy. I love learning and discovering more about basically everything. I’m a really open person and I love new experiences. I am excited to be at camp because It will give me big opportunity to meet new people and make new friends and learn new things. It was my dream to visit America and now I’m able to do it and work with amazing people as well, I’m really glad I got this chance to be here.

When I am not at camp, I build Legos, teach Vex robotics in town, play dungeons and dragons, play board games, and play the tenor saxophone. I love learning and discovering more about robotics/robots. I am excited to be at camp because I loved my years at Sci-Tech as a camper, and I’m so excited to share my love of science and be a role model for girls in STEM.

When I am not at camp, I will be a film production student, write films and plays, am the president of my youth group, and I am an intern for the science youtuber Allen Pan. I love learning and discovering more about D&D and Magic The Gathering, Model Rocketry, 3D animation, collecting and repairing antiques, and all things film and television. I am excited to be at camp because I went to Sci-Tech west and love the curiosity-based programs since I love learning and teaching.

When I am not at camp, I attend University in Newcastle and I study Sport and Exercise Science and I learn about the science behind the human body. I am excited to be at camp because I love Science so much is has fascinated me for years, so I am really excited to share my experiences with other people and learn new things about science myself from other people. I’d love to teach science to other people as well.

| Diana Vazquez Beltran Hello, my name is Diana and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 1st year at camp. I am from Puebla, Mexico. When I am not at camp, I go to college for chemical engineering and spend a lot of time in one of my favorite places: the lab! Right now, I’m working on developing polymeric membranes for gas separation, and I’m really enjoying the process. I also love learning about pretty much everything related to science, so I’m always on the lookout for conferences or courses I can take to keep expanding my knowledge every day. I love learning and discovering more about Chemistry, biology, space, and ways to combat global warming. I also love music, painting, and crocheting, I’m always eager to learn and discover new things! I am excited to be at camp because I get to inspire the next generation of young scientists, something I don’t think I could do anywhere else. It’s also my first time traveling outside of my country, and I’m really looking forward to diving into a new culture and experiencing all the cool things camp has to offer. I can’t wait to learn, explore, and meet awesome people along the way.

I am excited to be at camp because I really love biology and biotechnology and i’m excited to go to a camp that incorporates my interests into its activities.

| Amir Zaken Hello, my name is Amir and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 1st year at camp. I am from Tel Aviv, Israel. When I am not at camp, I work as a studio manager on the Israeli Economy Channel. As part of my role, I am responsible for connecting the presenters and guests to the sound and getting them into the studio in time for the live broadcast and in constant contact with the program’s controler and director. I really love acting and producing my own stuff. My biggest dream is to be a successful actor. I always like to learn new things, but what interests me most is how a television series or film is created, from the idea to writing, photography, to screening and distribution to the target audience. I am excited to be at camp because I was in the Scouts in Israel, but being at a summer camp in America is a different experience. It’s experiencing a different culture and seeing how children and youth experience their summer differently than children and youth in Israel.

| Sammy Chklovskii – Unit Head She/Her/Hers Hello, my name is Sammy and I am the Terrabyte Unit Head at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 10th – including 2020 year at camp. I am from New York City. When I am not at camp, I am studying public policy as the University of Michigan I love learning and discovering more about All things food, psychology and education I am excited to be at camp because It’s my favorite place and I can’t wait to go back and spend another summer in Byfield.

| Jude Cole Hello, my name is Jude and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 1st year at camp. I am from Liverpool, England. When I am not at camp, I attend Durham University to study Physics. I love learning and discovering more about Physics, Maths, Sports, Space, and Guitar. I am excited to be at camp because It looks like an incredible camp which has a great blend of scientific learning and physical activities. The community looks very welcoming and I look forward to contributing to this and making an enjoyable experience for the campers.

(especially History, astronomy and biology though!) I am excited to be at camp because last summer was absolutely awesome and I want more of the same!!!

When I am not at camp, I work as a project manager in the IDF. I love learning and discovering more about Technology, Sports, and hiking. I am excited to be at camp because it’s a change of scenery and routine, it’s exciting to pass on knowledge to children for the first time, and it seems like a challenge but a worthy one.

When I am not at camp, I go to university for biomedical engineering. I love learning and discovering more about Geography, specifically tectonic plate movements and weather. I love learning about different cultures because I love hearing about different folk tales. I also love Space, because the vastness of the universe has always fascinated me. I am excited to be at camp because I love sharing the subjects I’m passionate about and genuinely enjoy learning, so I’m excited to pass that on to the campers. When I am not at camp, I go to Emerson College for film production. I love learning and discovering more about Film and music I am excited to be at camp because I love Sci-Tech and I’m always excited to come back.

I am excited to be at camp because Sci-Tech is my home and there’s no where else I’d rather be.

When I am not at camp, I am a student at the University of Central Florida, getting my BFA in Theatre Design and Technology. I love learning and discovering more about Robotics, the performing arts, and AI. I am excited to be at camp because I get to meet and work with so many amazing staff and campers!

When I am not at camp, I Love to draw and hand-make stickers! Birds and monkeys are my favorite things to draw and I’ve also made little stickers of them as well! I also enjoy playing video games and drawing my favorite characters! I love learning and discovering more about Different cultures to my own! Whether it’s food, customs, or languages, I love to learn about people and their experiences. I am excited to be at camp because I get to teach the next generation to have fun with creating art especially in a digital medium which I’ve always had fun doing in my early teens to present day. Traditional art is not the only way to make art and I think digital can be a great option.

| Troy Mundschenk He/Him/His Hello, my name is Troy and I am a Senior Lead Instructor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 3rd year at camp. I am from Troy, NY. When I am not at camp, I run a little thing called the Game Club (hoorah!), Coach a First Robotics team, teach STEM to 5th and 6th graders, run/play in 3 active TTRPG campaigns (and several on hiatus), and photoshop pictures of myself as a cool wizard. I love learning and discovering more about cool wizard photoshop techniques, wizard picture photoshoot location scouting, and hypnotism to get people to say they like my cool wizard pictures. I am excited to be at camp because I have never felt like I belong in any community more in my life, because Sci-Tech attracts the kind of people who would be into my cool wizard photoshops.

Hello, my name is Lisa and I am a Community Care Specialist at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 1st year at camp. I am from Bowie, MD. When I am not at camp, I teach religious school, and volunteer at my kid’s school and the neighborhood elementary school (LOVE Scholastic Book Fairs). I love learning and discovering more about gardening, star gazing, anime, manga, Japanese culture, fish keeping, sewing and jewelry making. I am excited to be at camp because my kid has Sci-Tech their “home away from home” for three summers, and I’ve always loved supporting this camp (yes, I’ve won WRJ fundraiser bidding wars for Sci-Tech merch!). As a Kutz Camp alum and former Eisner staff, Jewish camps hold a special place in my heart. When my kid tried their first camp and didn’t like it, I was scared that they would miss out on the wonderful experiences I had. The next summer we sent them to Sci-Tech and they found their home!! I’m looking forward to being ignored by my kid all summer (except for a promised Shabbat fist bump) and enjoying s’mores under the stars!

Hello, my name is Jayme and I am a Director at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 8th year at camp. I am from Marshall, North Carolina, which is a small town outside of Asheville. I currently live in New Orleans, Louisiana! When not at camp I enjoy hanging out with my tri-pawed, Dexter, and playing video games and board games with friends and family. I love learning and discovering more about so many things! Right now, I am teaching myself embroidery, but I also love visiting new places around the world and learning more about countries and places outside of the United States.
