Session 3 has officially begun, and we could not be more excited! It has been a wonderful summer full of taglit (discovery) and sakranut (curiosity) here at Sci-Tech, and it is with bitter-sweet eyes that we turn towards our final session of 2024. But worry not, this session promises to be just as wonderful as the first two!

Our first 24 hours of session 3 have been off to a great start, with a Boker Big Bang of butane fire bubbles. Thanks to the Leidenfrost effect, our Program Director Jesse was able to safely light his hands on fire for all of camp to see! But remember, don’t try this at home!

Campers have begun settling into their new homes nicely, and the returning campers have welcomed the newcomers with open arms. Halls had the opportunity to create a Brit Kehillah (community covenant), setting boundaries of respect and communal living for the next two weeks.

From there, our Session 3 workshops have kicked off, and are now in full swing. We have workshops that are familiar to our returning campers, such as Robotics, Game Design, and Biochemistry, as well as a new workshop: Botanical Sciences. We also have our special Session 3-only workshops: Taste of Camp, for rising 4th graders, and Sci-Techkun Olam, for rising 11th graders.

We are more than excited to create an environment where campers can make connections between Judaism and science, foster curiosity and sharing, and live out our 6 core values. Over the next 12 days, campers will have the opportunity to explore, learn, and create forever friendships.

For over 10 years, our Sci-Tech community has created a space for campers to grow and learn together, in an environment of STEM learning. Our staff each year have built a camp community informed by their experiences as campers, while welcoming new staff with warmth, spirit, and humility. We are so eager to continue watching our campers grow into sophisticated leaders in STEM.

Under a summer sky, we welcomed our campers to our Kehillah Kedoshah (holy community) in Byfield!
