Another two weeks have passed in Byfield, and with that comes the end to another amazing session. This session marked the growth of many of the units, welcoming new friends to join in our journey of discovery.

Campers of Session 2 got to enjoy the hallmarks of every session at Sci-Tech. We had Boker Big Bangs, including an exploding trash can filled with ping pong balls. 10th grade got to enjoy a wonderful Teva (nature) Night by baking cookies and camping together inside the Performing Arts Center (because of the weather). Quest Day involved a romp through the wacky worlds of Nintendo, to defeat the villainous Master Hand. For the festival this session, campers got the opportunity to enjoy an International Festival, and explore the many different countries that our international staff call home. Every day at Sci-Tech was a blast, and campers enjoyed the various opportunities to grow and learn together.

In addition to these special events, it’s also the magic of our daily workshops and chugim (electives) that help inspire campers. This session, we had many wonderful workshops, such as Robotics, Game Design, Digital Film Production, Programming and Coding, Digital Art, and Botanical Sciences! Through the workshops this session, campers had the opportunity to express their sakranut (curiosity) and learn more about the fields of their choice!

In our chugim (electives), campers were able to choose from options such as audio technology, Minecraft, genetics, food, 3D printing, song leading, cryptology, chess, rocketry, algorithms, and more. With the opportunity to choose their programming, campers have the ability to engage with the fields of science and Judaism that drew them in the most.

There are many different things about Sci-Tech that make it a magical place to be. Sci-Tech works hard to blend Judaism, STEM subjects, and our 6 core values into every program here at camp. To the campers of Session 2, thank you for an unforgettable 12 days. To the campers of session 3, we can’t wait to get started.
