Welcome to Sci-Tech!

Welcome to Sci-Tech!! Session 3 has officially begun with a great Opening Day and our first Boker Big Bang – butane bubbles on fire!

In the first 24 hours at camp, we enjoyed getting to know each other as halls played mixer games and enjoyed a tour of camp with introductions to workshops. Campers who stayed from the previous sessions welcomed their new hall mates with warm smiles as they helped them unpack, wrote the Brit Kehillah (community covenant), played The Game of Life, and solved Rubik’s Cubes.

We are certain the 150 campers we welcomed into this session yesterday will take home inspiration to further pioneer into Judaism and science. Over a mere 12 transformative days of excitement and enthusiasm, campers will enjoy one of the 10 workshops offered this session, build forever friendships, and live out our 6 Points.

We are also so proud to be in the final session of our 10th summer since our pioneer year! During our first Shabbat, we will welcome guests like Rabbi Rick Jacobs, president of the Union for Reform Judaism, and honorees for our 10th Summer Celebration.

For the first time in the history of Sci-Tech, we welcomed campers this summer who were born during our pioneer year. Next summer, we cannot wait to welcome campers who were born into a world with Sci-Tech already waiting for them.

Over the past 10 years, our Sci-Tech community has created an intergenerational camper-to-staff pipeline. Our staff each year have built a camp community informed by their experiences as campers, while welcoming new staff with warmth, spirit, and humility. We are so eager to continue watching our campers grow into sophisticated leaders in STEM.

Under a summer sky, welcome to our Kehillah Kedoshah (holy community) in Byfield!
