Teva night provides the opportunity for our 9th and 10th grade campers to connect to nature through Judaism and Judaism through nature. It’s a rare time when we let them just exist in nature without needing to take a water sample, or examine a specific tree, play sports, or fly a drone. We let them just exist in nature, breath, smell, close their eyes. The program includes Jewish values and stories, so rather than being just a nature program, it is a Jewish program in a nature space. Teva is filled with joyous experiences in nature from campfires and s’mores, to observing the night sky through a telescope, to sleeping in tents with friends on the field.
