Hello, my name is Anna and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 7th year at camp. I am from Montclair, NJ. When not at camp I study architecture, environmental studies, and Chinese, and I’m in charge of props for my school’s student musicals. I love learning and discovering more about languages, art and design, architecture, cities, sustainability, social justice, space, music, art history, and more! I am excited to be at Sci-Tech for another great summer!

Hello, my name is Samantha and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 8th year at camp. I am from New York City. When not at camp I am going to school studying psychology, political science and education. I love learning and discovering more about psychology, food, painting, and history. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I get to spend time with some of the brightest young learners. I love working with kids and am excited to be back at my home away from home.

Hello, my name is Hannah Cohen and I am the photographer at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 6th year at camp. I am from Sharon, Massachusetts. When not at camp I attend college as a double major in Theatre and Jewish Studies, and work on a production team that runs lights and sound for the majority of my college campus’ events. I love learning and discovering more about American Sign Language, card games, and any interesting facts you may have! I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I absolutely adore seeing every camper have the time of their lives at this camp and being able to capture that for parents gives me so much joy!

I love learning and discovering more about science and different cultures around the world. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I consider it’s an incredible place to meet amazing people and learn from everyone.

Hello, my name is Edith Rose and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 1st year at camp. I am from Ramat Hasharon, Israel. When not at camp I served as a product manager in the army. I love learning and discovering more about Computer science, artificial intelligence, the brain, psychology, space, and tennis. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I look forward to having a positive influence on campers and enriching my knowledge and meeting new friends from all over the world.

Hello, my name is Joshua and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 1st year at camp. I am from Eugene, Oregon, USA. When not at camp I study computer science and engineering at Brown, make Arduino-controlled robots, build assistive devices for kids with physical disabilities, mentor a FIRST Tech Challenge team, and take photos. I love learning and discovering more about Books (especially science fiction), videography, drones, and renewable energy. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because it will be fun to meet great people and do interesting projects.

Hello, my name is Finn and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 9th year at camp. I am from Westfield, New Jersey, USA. When not at camp I write letters, use fountain pens for a more sustainable writing option, play TTRPGs, attend weekly zoom calls with the other 2022 machonikim, teach religious school, read non-fiction books, cook, and competed with my high school’s science olympiad. I love learning and discovering more about Judaism, biology, enviornmental science, foreign languages, TTRPGs including DnD. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because Sci-tech is my favorite place on earth and I am so happy to go back.

I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I’m finally an adult, and now I can give back to my favorite summer camp.

When not at camp I enjoy playing saxophone and piano as well as practicing Ninjitsu and Jiujitsu. I love to go outside for a bike ride or go camping in the mountains for a weekend. I love learning and discovering more about music and music theory as well as the math and physics used in modern musical technology. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I get to continue to make Sci-Tech a fun and meaningful Jewish community in which everyone can learn about what they enjoy and make connections with a diverse group of unique people.

When not at camp I attend the University of Wisconsin – Madison, majoring in social work and psychology, and minoring in Jewish studies and LGBTQ studies. I coordinate and lead events centered around social justice, advocacy, and affirmation within the queer Jewish community. I love learning and discovering more about social justice, nuance, and Jewish texts/history. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I love the camp community and inclusive environment Sci-Tech provides.

Hello, my name is Ruben and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 1st (2nd including Israel trip) year at camp. I am from Toronto, Canada. When not at camp I work as a lifeguard and swim teacher. I am also starting my first year of university in the fall studying biology. I love learning and discovering more about science (biology in particular), history, and aviation. I also enjoy playing chess, biking, snorkeling, and scuba diving. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I hope to build on the connections with the Jewish and Sci-Tech community that I experienced on the 2022 NFTY Israel trip.

I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I love working with children and adolescents and feel really happy when I can motivate others. Hello, my name is Harrison Solomon and I am a Counselor at Sci-Tech this summer. This is my 4th year at camp. I am from Weston, Connecticut, a small town near Fairfield. When not at camp I am a student at Kenyon College (it’s in the middle of nowhere Ohio), studying biology. I’ve also volunteered at zoos and aquariums, I’ve interned at a state park’s nature center, and worked with organizations like Circle of Friends. I love learning and discovering more about nature! I also love reading about weird fish and bugs, and I’ll spend hours walking in the woods. One of my favorite things to do when I’m bored is to go to a wikipedia page about some random animal, and just read up on it. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I missed the amazing community that we have here! I am happy to be back at the place where I can be around other people who like science. I also can’t wait to hopefully teach campers about animals!

I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because of the experiences that come with being a long time counselor–nothing brings camp more to my mind than having a nice time with my campers!

I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I love children, and seeing them working on their own things by themselves makes me proud and happy. I love this feeling!

When not at camp I study Biology & Society at Cornell University, as well as microbiology and ornithology. I also serve as a test writer for Cornell Science Olympiad and am a part of the Cornell Undergraduate Research Board. I also work at the Cornell Writing Center. I love learning and discovering more about birds, modeling, heavy metal, microbiology, Zork, Stephen King, Star Trek, Star Wars, Comic Books, etc. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because Sci-Tech is a unique, amazing place that was an amazing part of my childhood. I am jazzed to be able to be a part of making such an incredible experience for campers and to be able to again be in that amazing, nerdy, and accepting environment.

When not at camp I will be going to the University of Dundee for my postgraduate education. I love learning and discovering more about storytelling and comics. I am excited to be at Sci-Tech this summer because I will be contributing to camp in a way I haven’t before.

Alan D. Kaplan, MD FACC- Medical Consultant

Dr. Kaplan has served as the medical director for Eisner and Crane Lake Camps for 22 years and Six-Point Sci-Tech for 5 years. Alan has supervised medical services for many URJ L’Dor v’Dor trips to Europe and Israel and NFTY conventions. A member of the Harvard teaching faculty for 23 years and Dartmouth 10 years his clinical practice of 37 years includes invasive cardiology, aerospace medicine and pediatrics. He current serves on the URJ North American Board and Six-Point Sci-Tech. He attended Loyola medical school in Chicago and Suffolk law school in Boston.
Non-medical interests: Play write (6 shows including the Musical Miriam co-written with Debbie Friedman) and artistic director of a professional and a community theatre company (20 years), singer/songwriter/actor, professional photography, blue water sailor and instrument rated pilot. He is past president of Temple Adath Yeshurun in NH and currently chairs their technology, security and re-opening committees. He serves on five non-profit boards of directors and the Eagle board for NH BSA. He is delighted to spend another summer supervising the medical services at both Eisner and Six point Sci-Tech.

When not at camp I am busy volunteering at my synagogue and for the PTSA, taking care of my two sons and my husband, and reading as much as possible. I love learning and discovering more about music – I love it when people introduce me to a new artist and love all genres, books – I also love it when people tell me about a book they loved and the crazy things that are unique to New England. I currently live in New Orleans, Louisiana! When not at camp I enjoy hanging out with my tri-pawd, Dexter, and playing video games and board games with friends and family. Right now, I am teaching myself embroidery, but I also love visiting new places around the world and learning more about countries and places outside of the United States.
