One of the highlights of every summer at URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy is our International Staff Fair.
6 Points is fortunate to welcome staff members from around the world who spend months preparing for their experience in the United States before joining our camp community as counselors, instructors, and leadership staff. Each year, our international team includes counselors from Israel as well as a cohort of staff from the United Kingdom, bringing unique perspectives, traditions, and experiences that enrich camp life.
During the International Staff Fair, campers have the chance to explore different cultures through interactive activities, games, traditions, and conversations with staff from around the globe. It is a fun and engaging way to celebrate the diversity that makes our camp community so special.
The International Staff Fair is just one of the many ways we celebrate our international staff throughout the summer. Campers look forward to the daily Hebrew Word of the Day, led by our Israeli staff, and enjoy opportunities to learn new phrases, customs, and traditions from different parts of the world.
This summer, several staff members hosted a special Shalective focused on tea traditions in the United Kingdom, complete with cultural insights, popular expressions, and, of course, a proper cup of tea.
Even on an ordinary day at camp, it is common to overhear campers and staff practicing a new language, learning to write unfamiliar characters, or sharing stories about their backgrounds. These everyday moments of curiosity, connection, and friendship help make 6 Points a truly global community.
