Taking Camp With You
Reflections From Our Session 1 Tenth Grade Campers

Mah tovu ohalecha Yaakov, mishk’notecha Yisrael, “How good are your tents, O Jacob, your dwellings O Israel!” We sing these words on Shabbat morning at camp – the words of Balaam, a sorcerer hired by Balak, to curse the Israelites as they pass through his kingdom. But when Balaam opened his mouth, out came this blessing to the Israelites. [Learn more…] As we each search to find our places in which to dwell, we are reminded to speak blessings and be blessings throughout our respective journeys. Camp is a special place where we spend time dwelling each summer – and while each member of our community connects to it in different ways, we both give and receive blessings during our time at Sci-Tech.
As the first session of the summer came to a close, we asked our tenth graders to reflect on how Sci-Tech has impacted them, and how they might be taking their experiences and blessings with them as they begin the next chapters of their Jewish journeys. We are so incredibly proud of each of them, and have been blessed by their contributions to our Sci-Tech story. Roll film…
